New Year’s Day 2008 Google Doodle

Google’s running this Doodle logo today to mark New Year’s on Google.com:

Yeah, that’s an RJ11 telephone jack. Could it be a reference to Google’s telecom ambitions for 2008? Whatever it is, it certainly isn’t festive.
Happy New Year’s, everybody! May 2008 be better than 2007 was.
