YouTube Gets England British Royalty Deal
Google’s YouTube made a deal with royalty in Great Britain, music royalties that is. The agreement licenses 10 million pieces of music to YouTube, paying royalties to 50,000 composers, songwriters and publishers when their work is used by YouTube users. The deal further legitimizes YouTube’s content, with some U.S. royalty collectors holding more of an interim deal. The fees YouTube will pay have not been disclosed.
