Yahoo Joins With Comcast On Major Ad Deal
Yet another major advertising deal has been announced, and this time, it’s Yahoo getting display and video advertising on Comcast’s web site, which reaches over 2.5 billion page views and 15 million unique visitors per month. Yeah, at some point Comcast started to become a major web presence, something you’d never know if you lived in my area, which they don’t even service (yeah, I’m just in the middle of New York, nothing major).
Anyway, Comcast’s traffic brings Yahoo a ton of new places for advertising, which is great news for the company and should help them keep up with the Googles. AdWeek says Google must be seething on this news, because it had been in negotiations with Comcast, not just for internet advertising, but also ads on Comcast cable TV.
