Mets Win! What a game
Just got home from a New York Mets game that started almost five hours ago, an improbable, tightly fought contest that went 12 amazing innings.
In the tenth, after the Rockies scored the first run of the game, 37-year old Damion Easley (born 26 days after the Mets won the 1969 World Series) hits a beautiful home run to tie the game right back up.
My wife was pissed.
The game was already over three and a half hours old, and it was cold. We were so sure that the game was over, that Easley, a career .250 hitter who has only player 6 games as a Met, was not going to save the team this day, that we were standing at the top of the tunnel to leave when the ball cleared the fence.
