Yahoo! Young Media Star: Caitlin Hegarty
Social sharer, proud Spartan and eBay connoisseur
Editor’s Note: Wednesday we announced the winners of our Yahoo! Young Media Stars, media planners who exemplify the art and science of media strategy. The winners will travel to Advertising Week as guests of Yahoo!. Here we introduce our first Young Media Star, Cailin Hegarty of Digitas.
Hailing from Grand Rapids, Michigan, 26-year-old Caitlin Hegarty attended Michigan State and is a proud Spartan. (“Go green!” she exclaims.) Ad of the Week: Mitsubishi’s “i” campaign on Yahoo! News
Immersive, eye-catching and interactive
Automaker Mitsubishi wanted to show off its innovative new ‘i’ electric vehicle to the 81 million visitors who come to Yahoo! News every month, and let them have a little fun at the same time — but they needed a little more space than a simple banner would allow. They also wanted the whole page to become the creative canvas. And they got it.
The Yahoo! team helped Mitsubishi to develop a fully immersive page overlay that highlighted the i’s unique design, features, affordability and eco-friendliness. The interactive experience offered Mitsubishi’s audience the chance to “Express Their Eco-Self” by turning the overlay into their own ideal landscape.
But the screen grab above just doesn’t do justice to this unique creative. Play with Mitsubishi’s i page overlay ad on Yahoo! News for yourself, and be sure to click the “I Like Creating” icon.
– The Team
