how can i get adsense to show different ads?

i’ve been using adsense on my website for a while now, but i rarely get clicks, and i believe the reason is because the ads i get are really bland. my website is for penn state students, so i usually get ads for online colleges or penn state apparel shops. one time i was getting a video game ad, that had like an xbox on it. i don’t know how i got that ad but i felt like if i could have more ads like that then my site would do much better
so is there anything i can do with adsense to get lets say some more ads about video games, concerts, football, pretty much anything that college students would be interested in
