Mobile advertisers beat the spread this season
My father started his own fantasy league in the newsroom of The Sacramento Bee back in 1978 after seeing an article about it in Sports Illustrated. In those days, playing fantasy football meant taking down detailed stats on reams of graph paper and racking up a huge bill from Ma Bell trading players on the phone.
Today, with Yahoo! Fantasy Football, it’s different. “It’s a lot easier because you have all the stats right there,” my pops told me on the phone the other day. “They rank players constantly. I don’t know how they do it, but there it is.” And now you can play anywhere from your smartphone.
But Yahoo! Fantasy Football “playas” aren’t the only ones who scored during this year’s grid-iron season. Advertisers scored big, too—especially on mobile.
