7 years old account and I can’t set a signature??

I have no idea what happened to DP in the past few years but I am pretty sure I've had my account longer than the majority of current active users on here, yet i've logged in today after a long break to see this thing about 'established users'. How more established can you get than having an account for over 7 years?? Did you change owners or something?
I understand you guys had to combat spam in some way or another but you could have at least made it that all accounts over a certain age did…
