ExoClick PPC fraud?
I ran a quick ppc test campaign through a re-seller to see if I could buy some bulk discounted targeted traffic for an affiliate referral site I own. I didn’t know ExoClick was the source provider until it showed up on my Analytics report as "main.exoclick.com / referral".
At first glance the traffic looked legitimate. It was nearly all from the US and Canada (as requested) and the US traffic showed it as originating from 49 of 50 states from multiple ISPs.
What didn’t make sense though was that Analytics also showed nearly all of the traffic (98%) was using Internet Explorer and that the clicks I did receive were almost perfectly evenly distributed across the links on my landing page (which is very uncharacteristic of my organic and AdWords ppc traffic). As expected, I also didn’t get a single sale which is also very uncharacteristic […]

Revenue is $45. Conversion is 1 in every 143 visits. Cost-per-click $0.5…No luck?
My profit per sale is $45.
The conversion rate is 0.7%, which is 1 in every 143 clicks.
To get 143 clicks, I have to pay $71.5 (143 * $0.5). So, $45 - $71.5 = $26.5 in the hole. Does that mean as far as PPC I’m SOL until I increase the conversion rate, or is there another way to look at this?
